At least 3 species belong to the Tribe Allotopini : Allotopus rosenbergi, Allotopus moellenkampi (all distributed in South East Asia) and Mesotopus tarandus (can be found in Equatorial Africa). Mesotopus regius seems to be a synonym of Mesotopus tarandus. The eyes of Allotopus and Mesotopus are completely divided by a cantus. The females have a lot of similar morphological characteristics (Jean-Michel Maes).
