Goliathus goliatus

The Goliath-Beetle is the biggest of all african beetles, measuring up to 11 cm. This giant and Megasoma actaeon are the heaviest adult beetles of the world. They can weigh up to 47 gram. The larvae of Goliathus have been well documented as being cannibalistic, it feed on other invertebrates as an additional nutrition. The larvae grow to be very large, often reaching up to 6 inches (150 mm) in length, and can weigh over 3 1/2 ounces (100 grams)!
